00 S70 Battery question

Hello everyone,

I think my battery is bad, tried to charge it last night but it didn't charge.
I have a battery that came out of a 91 740, would that be compatible with my S70?

First thing to check is are the +ve and -ve connections in the same places? If not, are the battery leads long enough to reach the terminals if the battery is sitting in a reversed location in the tray. If this is ok, then, you need to see if the battery will physically fit in the battery tray. Does it have the locating flanges at the base of it to allow it to be held by its base like the S70 battery?

Then all you need to see is the CCA (cranking amps) is in the same range. Higher is ok.

Looks like the '91 740 used either a Group 47/48/91 battery.

The 850/70 series battery tray accomodates the Group 47/48 battery size without modification.
