2000 V70R - Spare wheel cover?

I'm replacing some of the trunk area plastic trim in my 2000 V70R wagon, and noticed there is a carpet covering the spare wheel in its recess below the trunk base, but there is no wooden (plywood/hardboard) under the carpet. Do any of you with a wagon know if there should be a shaped piece of hardboard that sits on the polystyrene ring over the spare mini wheel but under the carpet?

Discovered the spare wheel was mounted incorrectly (up-side down) which prevented the rear floor flap seating properly.

There must be someone out there with V70 of some version, that could take a quick look under the floor cover for me please to see if there is a sheet of shaped hardboard under the carpet over the spare wheel?

I do have hardboard. But I also have the third seat. Might have made a difference

1998 V70 NA (no 3rd seat) has the plywood board.

Thanks guys. I had another look at the carpet and it has a padded section that would rest on the spare tire. If I were going to keep the car, I would make a hardboard cover. Just not using the car enough (220km in last 3 months). Boss has said it will have to go.

Well, I have now looked at 6 or 7 V70 P80's in the breakers yards around here and not one had a piece of plywood over the spare wheel. I did find a piece in the back of an 850 Turbo wagon and picked that up. I've posted pictures of the various parts below. Even checked this car at the local dealer. 2000 V70 XC with approx. 75,000 miles (122k km). They are retailing it after replacing the rear diff seals, the front shock mounts and the turbo return pipe. Crazy price though! Oh, and it didn't have the wood cover either. Maybe it was an 850 thing only?

I've fitted the 'plank' which just seems to sit on the tire, it doesn't actually span the wheel well.
