2003 C-70 HPT buyers tips - right forum?

Post by mikeamondo »

First off.... is this the right forum for the early 2000 C70's? Saw pre-2000 and post 2006.... but nothing in the middle.
I'm thinking about a C-70 HPT stick shift for sale and was looking for basic info on the car and in particular, things of concern to watch out for....

thanks!
Mike

Posts about C70s up to model year 2004 should go in the first forum as you look at the board index, the "P80" forum.

1992 - 1997 850, 850 R, 850 T5-R, 850 T5, 850 GLT
1997 - 2000 S70, S70 AWD
1997 - 2000 V70, V70 AWD
1997 - 2000 V70-XC
1997 - 2004 C70

I don't have "C70 (1997-2004)" in the title because it would lengthen an already long forum title. I do have the list including C70s under it. Sometimes the image throws off this list, so that the last one wraps too far. I'll fix it.

I'm thinking about a C-70 HPT
...and gloating about HPT stick shift models is only allowed in the P80 forum, too...

They got rid of the Magnetti Marelli throttle by 2003 (C70s lagged a year behind and still had them in 2002) and you don't have much else to worry about being a stick unless the rear main seal and/or clutch facings are worn.

The usual applies about PVC and service history being up to sctatch.

This should be a ragtop because the coupe was not produced to the later years so be sure the roof isn't torn or leaking.
