1999 C70 NO windows working, RESOLVED - FUSE #35 ?

Hey I'd like to start off by saying that I have used the board for a few problems I've had so far on the wife's newly acquired C70.I have had good luck searching the threads for the info I was looking for here and would like to say "Hey,,Thanks for the info".

No then with that out of the way,I guess a little history is in order,like I have stated it is a 1999 C70,has around 135K miles on it,Seems to run alright it's gonna need the throttle body cleaned out idles crappy sometimes.The top stopped working about a month ago.Got it back up manually and up it will stay for awhile.lol..

She say's she was driving and turned on the AC,then was running the windows up,the rear went up fine,drivers went up about halfway,then just stopped.Passenger window would not respond at all.I got home and sure enough windows are dead.Nothing moves,not rear not front,none will do a thing.No clicking,no wine from any motors,,nothing..I checked the main window relay/fuse,the 60 amp one,it's fine.The switch for the top is also dead,the windows don't respond from any switch not the drivers main,not the passenger door switch,not the rear window switches,just dead.I also noticed that along with the windows,the mirror control on drivers door is also dead.
I looked through the owners manual and didn't see any other fuse mentioned as windows other than the main 60 amp one.
I do not have a shop or service manual for this thing.I am capable of doing any repairs to it and can follow any directions given.I am a retired Radio Frequency Engineer from Motorola,Also a drag racers and classic car restorer and builder,I just wanted to say this so as too let anyone know that tries to help me out,that I will be able to follow you !

Give me some help here please,like a diagram,walk through or even a get around if it turns out to be the top module as the reason everything has died.Anyway,I'm sitting here in my shop waiting for some of you to give me some guidance..Will have PC open and on this page and should be able to respond with a quickness..

Update !!!

It's me again Margret !!..lol.. Well I gues thats only funny to those of us O'l Farts who remember Ray Stevens !

Anyway.while waiting for some of you who have read the thread to reply back.I got bored and took my circuit tester and went threw the fuse boxes.Everything in the mail was good as mentioned before.Went threw the small ATC type fuses and somebody tell me what fuse number #35 has too do with the windows? Say on the fuse cover"Hood Warning/(Accessories)/(RTI) (whatever that is?) Roof Light Switch Lighting/Auto Dim Mirror/---A 10 amp fues to do all that..At any rate it was blown.Windows are back in operation.I think a 15 amp would be better suited for all these possible current draws,but I'll leave a 10 amp in it and see if it fails again soon.

Too all that came by and read my little rant of a thread..Thanks for stopping by and having a good laugh on my small issue !!

Thanks again.I'll be back with other problems as I have read allot of info in here and seems as though these things do have some issues!.lol....

Teach a man to fuse and he no longer suffers from stopped panes..

Glad you found it so quickly - when nothing works it usually is something easier to diagnose imhe.

If the car is a convertible then F35 does indeed supply some of the up/ down switches, if it is a hard top then I can't see what F35 would do at all, the convertible has a different set of wiring diagram sheets specific to that model, don't confuse them with the C70 sheets.

The power to drive the windows goes through F37 and F38 which are metal can self resetting circuit breakers that reset once they have cooled down these items are under the main lid of the fusebox which to get at means removing the four Torx head screws securing the fusebox lid, they cannot be seen fully through the smaller flap you open to access the blade fuses - Mike

Thanks for that info Mike. I did mention the top had failures in my post,but I guess I didn't specify it as a drop top though,,Sorry bout that..Again,,I enjoy the forum !!

I could use a little help. I smelled something akin to hot coolant but found no leaks. On my way to pick up a grandchild I saw smoke coming from the drivers side door (near the front). I pulled over took off the panel and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Now none of the controls on the door work. I checked box fuse boxes. Could it be the relay and if so where is it located? 1999 C70 convertible. Thanks

Oh the trunk and gas door do work but nothing else from the drivers side. When I open the roof the windows go up and down. I already have a broken drivers side cable on the regulator but before I heard the motor now nothing.
