2011 S40 - does it have a radio code?

Post by RaulGuichard »

Greetings,

Just bought a used 2011 S40 T5. It had some trouble with the boost sensor (code P0236) but have already replaced it. However I'm getting really poor MPG (12.5) and it isn't performing as I expected, so I'm about to do an ECU reset, just worried about the radio entering into anti-theft mode since I don't have it's code to unlock it. Does anybody know if the radio would enter in anti-theft mode even if I reconnect the cables with the key in position II or if I do it like that I shouldn't worry about locking the radio?

Thanks in advance

Thanks, my hopes are not that high, but I think it may be worth giving it a shot. Just to get things clear, when you say that radio has no code, it means that it will not get locked (as if it uses another mechanism, only works on the same car) or that it will get locked but there is another way to unlock it?

That car doesn't have a "radio" . It has a few components working on a fibre optic network to give you radio, CD, and Nav (if equipped). There is no electronic lock as there is no one thing to steal that needs protection.
The S40/V40 at the top of the thread is the Dutch built model that still uses an all in one double DIN sized, slide into the dash head unit. Those have codes as they were easy to steal units.

Thanks, just did the procedure, no problem with the "radio". I think there is no feedback that the ECU actually has been reset but the clock did so I guess it might had.
