2002 C70 Convertible help

So a good friend bought a used C70 convertible that runs well but has a few issues. The canvas too appears not to be the original- it has a thick clear plastic window in the back that looks like it was parked under trees for years- all oxidized, hazy and no visibility through it and coming loose in one of the corners-the rest of the top is in decent shape. My question is in regards to cleaning and making the plastic transparent again and how to reattach it to the canvas. Any suggestions? It seems that originally there was glass with defrost?

Definitely glass with defrost originally. As far as clearing the plastic up, I would block sand it with 1500 grit, then 2000 grit. Polish with an orbital polisher, using good plastic polish.
As far as reattaching, I don't know. Aren't the plastic ones sewn in?

GOOD auto glass companies can install a glass in a top. You might be able to find a used glass from a wrecking yard.

You are a bit landlocked but finding a good marine canvas shop might help replacing that plastic window in kind. Boats have all kinds of plastic stitched into canvas.

You are correct I have checked on that the problem is that because I am in land it would require taking everything out of the car and sending it in that's really not an option right now
