My supplier couldn't get the Meyle which may or may not be good, and with shipping it didn't make sense. The Volvo one looks very well made,
It looks so nice when it's new. It was from Sweden. Let us know how the Meyle is if you buy it
How do you get the discount?
The FCP Euro headquarters is about 2 miles from the local dealer and I can buy Volvo OEM
tank there for $57.

It's very close to what Volvo puts in from the factory. Many people here have used it for years in many Volvos, it works great.

I agree with the other people, totally worth it to get the Volvo bottle.

Get the Volvo tank, otherwise, you'll be replacing it a year later. Ask me how I know.

To answer your question, the small top hose connection point should be open.

After a couple of purchases, the parts guy started recognizing me and I simply asked if I could get a discount like I did through Honda. I don't ask when its a $5 hose but over $30 they usally give me the discount. I paid $66 for it but we get hosed a bit here in Canada for dealer parts but in reading some posts used Volvo's here are dirt cheap compared to the States and usually are sold when they reach past 200,000km (124,000 miles). I think most dealers will give you a discount considering DIY is a dying breed and they need business.

Most ppl told me to go OEM, so I did especially when it was only $20 than the infamous URO.

Thanks, FCP matched that
Is tasca the best for hoses also, or where can I get the best price for OEM hoses?

Bottom line is yes on the hose prices: tasca. There are a few other dealers who sell at or near (but not lower than) tasca prices too, but I don't remember which ones.

I too have joined the dealer discount club. I suppose it says more about the frequency of my trips there than anything else and I got it simply for the asking. After I'd been there often enough for a variety of parts counter guys to start recognizing me, and after making sure to identify myself by name when I called the parts department with any inquiries, I simply asked one day if they could "do better than that" when they quoted me a price at the counter. The counterman said he'd see what he could do and immediately offered a 15% discount. Been getting between 10-16% since, but I always remind them that they frequently give me a nice discount.

My local dealer is Bridgewater Volvo -- a site sponsor known as "Volvocountryparts." They have been very good to deal with.

On the flip side, another more or less local dealer is Prestige Volvo in East Hanover, N.J. I won't go anywhere near them unless they are the only dealer in the country with the part I need. Extremely high parts mark-up and no discount. I gave them an opportunity to win my business -- they didn't seem interested. Now I have essentially told them they are my parts supplier of last resort.
