2002 Volvo s60 turbo went oil in exhaust system

Post by Unclejus1215 »

I just purchased a 2002 Volvo s60 AWD equipped with the 2.4L turbo. I found a replacement turbo online and ordered it. It should be here in about a week. My question is.. Since the turbo whet the exhaust filled with oil. I don't have any way of knowing how much oil is in the exhaust/cat/and muffler. I am asking if I should leave it and let it burn off, try to somehow clean the system out... Or replace the exhaust system too. If so if any one knows where I can find a good full system (- the manifold) for a reasonable price. Even a "upgraded" exhaust to free up a couple of horses. I however do not want anything to loud! Does anyone have any ideas for me on any of this. And also if I might need to do anything else before driving this car. ( as to not damage anything else). I appreciate any and all help on this matter. Thank you

Personally I would drive it and let it cook unless you WANT a new larger exhaust system. Now if it pushed thru the boost plumbing that would be different. I'd clean that out.
