Yes. The demo version does nothing that is very useful.
It does give an explanation of how to use an OBD I flash reader, which, if you have not yet created is also of useless information.

As far as the ABS/TRAC light is concerned, I have read the posts and fixes for the ABS module. And I performed it. I removed the module from the pump & soldered the joints as instructed. It worked! However, it was short lived. 13 days later, the Fault lights returned.
- The Christmas tree thingy: check all your ground wires. Diagrams in forum.

- The ABS thingy: I did the same thing (soldering but short-lived), I sent my ABS module to BBA-reman dot com Taunton, MA, north of Boston). They fixed it for $60 with LT warranty.
Three years later, all is good, these guys are BBA-reman knows what they are doing.

- For 98 model, all you need is the standard OBD-II scanner, which I am sure you know.

For a 98 nothing is perfect. VOL-FCR works about the best, for me at least. My autel EU702 won't clear ABS codes on a 98 but will clear SRS, OBD and TCU codes no problem. I did just buy an Autel AL619 this week that will clear ABS on a 98 but it can't read TCU codes like the EU702 can. The AL619 is also "clunky" in how it's set up, I'm thinking I'm not going to keep it as it isn't fast enough for me.

I have Vida/dice, FCR, EU702 and now the AL619. None of them are perfect for any given situation on any car. I actually strongly dislike VIDA and won't use it unless I absolutely have to.

FCR can be free if you don't count the cable. That's still cheaper than a basic $20 reader and about the best that any of us are going to get.
