any ideas on customizing to fit a simple coffee cup or open soda

A friend purchased a wonderful holder for me from Walmart. It actually attaches to the emergency brake and the top part is adjustable to accomodate various size cups/cans/bottles etc.
It's VERY easy to put on and take off if necessary...but I can still use my brake with it on.

I just wedge it between the parking brake and seat and try to avoid hard turns.

Saw a little custom job for a 740 on Ebay the other day. Replaced the console lid and had a cup holder that slid out in front and back. Maybe there's something similr for your model.
