2002 s60 check engine light and front dash speakers

I have a 2002 s60 and for some reason the check engine light comes on but the weird thing is it never stays on permanently. sometimes it goes away for weeks and sometimes its just stays on. I really appreciate all of your help. thank you.
Also my front dash speakers are not working when i play any music thank you.

That's a needle in the haystack question. Pull the codes with an OBD2 scanner.
