2008 xc70 headlight warning on dash

Hi, I just bought this car and it said multiple bulbs were out. I fixed the parking lamp on the drivers side and now it says headlight malfunction needs service.
All the headlights work. I plugged in my dice unit and it told me it was a motor problem and suggested the left wire was plugged into the right light. or vice versa. This makes no sense to me. Has anyone got an idea of what my problem might be?
The original owner said he had changed the driver side bi xenon light and the lights didn't move anymore and the button on the console flashes all the time.
That's all I can think of at this point.
