Anyone out there with advice? I love the car and it's a shame if I have to get rid of it. Last summer it started shifting rough. And idled like a bucking bronco! As if one of the cylinders weren't firing. So I changed the plugs. Worked fine for 2 days. Then back to it. I suspected fuel wasn't getting in so I changed the fuel cap and filter. Now it idles beautifully, but take it for a drive and it shifts like a mule, or completely looses power as I will it to the side of the road. Do I need to flush the tranny? Or is it (as I've read on this forum and so many others) a bad ETM or MAF? It should be noted that the check engine light is not on. If it's a bad ETM, the cost is prohibitive for a car with 130k miles, and I'll have to say goodbye to it. I think I read somewhere here about changing the MAF. Might that be the problem? Thanks all.

It might be a valve body. Fresh ATF won't help. Repaired valve body is ~$1200, including work. If you know you've neglected the car, yeah, better sell it.

Mine is becoming jerky in hot days in traffic, I'm planning to rebuild VB next spring. Did that with wife's 2002 V70, shifts like new.

No ETMs on an 05, it's all transmission

So the poor idle was fixed with the fuel filter.

As for the transmission, how is the fluid level? How is the fluid color? The symptoms you describe sound more like is missing/has the wrong fluid. How long have you had it?
