Hello
I was a victim of a punctured tire last week. Rear passenger. I figured this would be a good time to replace both rear tires with some snows. I removed the flat tire, no problems. On the good side I removed the lugs but cannot get the rim off of the hub. I have tried heat, PB Blaster, prybar, deadblow hammer. It will not budge, any suggestions out there.
Also I would perfer to mount some steel rims for the winter. Is it true that the Ford Taurus will fit on the 2001 XC70. Any other rims that can fit on the XC70 volvo or other model
Thanks
G

You exhausted all my ideas, I was going to suggest liquid wrench/wd 40 in the lug holes and center rim if you can remove the cap. Then wack the rim around perimeter with a piece of wood and hammer. Worked for me a while back.

Mmm, don't know if it's a safe idea, but maybe unbolt just a bit the lugs, then drive the car slowly in a parking lot left and right. But it can damage the flat tire.

Good point with smearing grease on back of rim and face of rotor, I use wheel bearing grease after a good surface clean...

4x4 by 8 foot, under car, propped up to apply force to tire, hit from other side with sledge. This was the most drastic tire removal I've ever had to do.Vlvspd wrote:Did you ever get it off? You want to be hitting the rim from the backside. Grab a 4x4 piece of lumber or a bigger dead blow.
Afterwards, wire brush face of parking brake drum and wheel, and apply a thin film of grease.
