'97 855 Loose Battey Connector
I noticed that the negative battery clamp is a little loose, even when the 10mm bolt is tightened as far as it will go. I'm wondering if there's some easy fix to this, besides replacing the whole cable. There's not enough slack in the cable to replace the clamp and I'd like to avoid replacing the whole cable. I've bent the soft metal but I'm sure it'll just get loose again. Any suggestions? I was thinking of wrapping the battery post with thin wire to buildup the diameter but that seems a little 'iffy' to have a lot of juice running through it - probably glow like a light bulb?

There are a lot of replaceable battery terminals on the market.Simply bolt the cable on it.

Also make sure your battery is firmly secured so it doesn't move around, tug on the cable, and cause the connection to loosen.

- Undo the battery cable end.
- Use a pair of pliers and gently bend the ends OUTWARD a tiny bit, all you need is 2mm or so.
- Re-install it, but only snug the bolt with 1 finger.
The #1 cause of loose battery cable is from over-tightening of the 10-mm bolt.

+1 to cn90's idea.
Check if the tabs are bent, likely the ring itself can still snug up to the post if you bend them back out. To adjust them, all you have to do is unscrew and remove the 10 mm bolt.
