2000 S70 Front Fog Lights Don't Work

Post by Warren561 »

The front fog lights don't work on my 2000 S70.

I have checked:
1) Both bulbs are good. Filaments are intact
2) Headlights work
3) Green indicator light on Fog Light Switch on Dash works
4) Fuse #17 (Fog Lights) is good

I haven't checked:
1) Voltage at the bulb sockets
2) Listened for "click" of the fog light relay. I'll have to take the driver's side kick panel off to listen for it.

My questions:
1) If the relay is bad, will the green indicator light on the fog light switch still illuminate?
2) I recently had the driver's side front fender replaced. Is there a wiring connector for the fog lamps that runs along the driver's side front fender (just in case the body shop forgot to re-connect it)?

Thanks in advance.

Was there a resolution to your issue?

I also have same problems. Indicator on dash switch lights up, fuse ok. Still not coming on.

I'm thinking that the relay is working if the light in the switch is working. It looks like when the relay closes it feeds power from pin 1 to pins 5 and 3...pin 5 goes to the switch light and pin 3 to the fog lamps. I suppose the relay could have a break between pins 3 and 5 which could power the switch but not the fog lamps. Check for power at the fog lamps and work back to the relay.

Check the connector that feeds the socket.
They get wet, corrode and die...
