The other day when I got back home from work I pulled up to my normal parking spot, threw the car in park, pulled the ebrake and turned off the car. Only this time the key did not want to come out. The car was off but the radio and dash lights were still on. The key was stopped in the AC position. I wiggled it a bit and got it to turn all the way back so I could remove the key. The next day I turn the car on, press the brake and try to put the car in reverse but It would not shift out of park (Automatic geartronic transmission) I tried to pump the brake, I tried to turn the car off and then back on and no luck. I then pulled hard on the shifter (I know I should not have done that) but I did. I forced it out of park. When I drove off I noticed that theres play in the shifter while in drive, It still allows me to go into manual mode and everything works but its all wobbly.
Today I took the console apart and looked at the shifter and found the reason why theres play in the shifter.
This yellow plastic piece broke.
So my questions are.........
1) does anyone know if this part can be purchased separately?
2) Does anyone have any idea as to what may be causing the non release of the solenoid?
Any help would be great.
