2002 S60 (non-T) can't get cat-converter out

Post by Ru4Wheel »

I am hoping someone know how to remove the catalytic Converter from under the car. I have it all unbolted but it is stuck in the cavity it is located in. It's too big to wiggle out! I have the car up on ramps, and the rear tires up on 4x4 lumber. I have removed the flex pipe and two cross members under the exhaust. Is there something else that can be removed? I have a new cat to replace the old one, to stop the P0420 code. Any thoughts?? Thanks, KEN

Well it turns out that you have to remove the right side drive shaft to make enough room for the original Catalytic Converter to drop out.
