99 s80 dtsc light is on service required

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

What part of the country are you in, could this car have been flooded. Check the locations and conditions of your yaw sensor (relay) and related bits, if they corrode, you lose function.

Also, read through this https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... TC#p237227
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Hi,
As for Dstc light it should be the famous Volvo Abs-Dstc module or pump and you have three solutions : 1) one remove it and open it and watch for components that the solder has melted and try soldering tham, 2) find a person or company that repairs tham and send it to them or 3) buy a new or a used one from junkyard that will start soon to act the same.
For lack on power as i know this module is not connected with any engine componnent.

You say it lacks power off the line. Does it run strong at traffic speeds? Does it feel like you are starting in third gear? is the W mode engaged? It may be in limp mode.

it shows the symbol on the dash for dtsc being engaged but it might just be telling that somethings wrong, I just wondered if there was a way to clear it like the other codes. It does feel im taking off in like third gear but its fine after that, I just thought they were related somehow

The DSTC (Dynamic stability traction control) is a system that cuts the power to the wheels that are not getting grip (traction), so if there is a fault with that system it can engage with no reason and make your car feel slow off the line.

You can turn the DSTC off and see if it behaves the same off the line.

I cant get the dstc to turn off it says service required and I used to be able to turn it on and off but the little picture stays on and the message, although the light on the button does go on and off when you push it
