2009 S80 Wish to Add Sirius Tuner

Post by letti001 »

Greetings to all,

I just bought a 2009 S80 3.2 last week. It should be Sirius ready and as such I would like to add the tuner. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I realize that I will need to have the dealership program the radio but it seems to me that I can add the tuner and possible replace the button on the radio with the satellite radio button and then have the dealership do their thing.

Thank you in advance .

I found one on ebay and ordered it for $100. It seems easy enough to install and then I will take it to the Dealership to have it programmed. The car is satellite prepped and there are cables located in the trunk where it is supposed to be. If it does not work, then I am only out $100.

I have done worse. :(

No button replacement is needed. The MODE button is used to select satellite radio (two tuners) when Sirius is installed. Hopefully all the dealer needs to do is to install the Satellite Radio application and you should be good. There is chance that it won't program because the VIN is different, I'm not too up on the MOST bus component locking in the P3 cars.

I found attuned that matches my car. The p/n matches. I installed it and took photos just in case it works. Next I will go to the dealership for the VIDA programming. We'll see how it goes. It only cost me $100 new off eBay.
