98 S70 T5 Airbag scan tools? Oil light reset

Apart from Vag Com cable with Vol-FCR I haven't heard of anything that will do the airbag and service light on '98 Volvos. In fact it needs to be a fully licensed version of Vol-FCR for the service light.

None of the forums I've browsed contain any info apart from one guy here in Oz who got hold of the early Volvo system scanner that dealers used, however these are extremely scarce on the ground.

No oil reminder or oil interval counter.

The airbag (SRS) can be reset with the Autel Maxidiag EU702 (or US703 or JP701) line of scanners.

If you are interested, threads from the last week or so in this forum describe how this scanner can currently be had for about $70.

Keep forgetting the Autel EU 702s will handle the 98s

I know the Autel Maxidiag 700-series can read/clear DTCs for SRS and ABS '98 S70/V70.

Can the Autel Maxidiag 700-series also do the following for the '98 S70/V70:

a) reset the SERVICE light?
b) change the SERVICE interval limits (mileage, calendar time, engine hours)?
c) read/clear OBDII emission diagnostic DTCs?
d) read/clear DTCs for the other ECUs (COMBI, AW 50-42, Power Seats, Immobilizer, ECC, VGLA, RTI, etc)?
[Consider it a separate question for each of those ECUs listed in d).]

The eu702 will read abs codes on 98's but won't clear them. It will clear SRS codes though

For sure a) and b) are "no" answers; the others are probably mostly "no" but maybe this pdf provides usefiul details http://www.resettools.com/manual/autel/ ... ual_EN.pdf. You can read trans codes with it on a 98 and a 96 (i.e., any P80), I have done that.

I think many of the eBay vendors bundle a "cracked" version of VOL-FCR along with the VAG-Com cable. I don't know if the swashbuckling P2P site is up or down at the moment but most of the P2P sites have VOL-FCR floating around. With a '98 VOL-FCR does just about everything.
