Autozone and likes loan Axle Puller Adapter - a claw like object - that can then be attached to slide hammer for this task. That is only if a simple Pitman Arm Wedge 27021 can not do the job.

The "shape" like Chisel is fine for the job, however it is not a recommended tool.
Why take a risker option when there are simpler choices first.

A stuck c-clip will give and release, but severe rust at spline, minor crack/tear, and aging (that you can't see) will work against your effort. If there is clunk at the first drive in the morning - R or D - you need to be extra careful when going against the driveaxle.

Flood it with PB Blaster for few days. Knock at CV gently, use a buffer like wood. Work at it little each day, you will feel the difference. No heat.

Use new Volvo seal when installing.
