Well, I've decided out of necessity to tear back into the old V70 to try to find the small Evap leak CEL issue AND fix the fuel mileage at 14mpg issue. I thought I would check the fuel pump and was prepared to do the cut out mod and surprise surprise someone else has already done that. But it looks like I did find my mileage problem AND possibly the Small Evap leak problem. It looks to me like the Fuel Pump Gasket is Leaking. See Photo.

OR...
Do you gentlemen think it may be leaking FROM the Wires where they go into the pump causing the fuel to leak out & the Vacuum leak also?

If the grommet that is supposed to seal it is bad, yes it could leak there, more suck in as level drops I would assume, than fuel out unless tank was full. Good find! Always the last place you look, right :D
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

I believe it was leaking from the wires feed thru. I potted it with Seal All. Definitely a vacuum leak for the tank press. Time will tell if there's any other source leak.

Pulled the LF wheel & liner to inspect the Purge valve under the fender by the door, found the 90* hose on top of the canister had a crack I couldn't see from underneath. One more source out of the way.
code cleared, drive-som-mor...
