2000 S70 Catalytic Converter Question
Hello Everyone I have a 2000 Volvo S70 with approx. 135k miles. Over the summer the center bearing bracket to my drive shaft (I suspect all original) failed
and the drive shaft rested on top of the converter luckily while I was close to home. Through divine intervention
it fell in such a way that it did not flop around and barely scraped the catalytic converter. Thanks to MVS and Colorado drive shaft I was able to get my baby back to working order quickly. I haven't noticed any negative side effects from this incident and all the Catalytic mounting points all still look in good shape. During the winter when I had access to a floor lift I noticed on the catalytic converter pipe there is a clamp style bracket at about the halfway point under the vehicle. One side of the clamp seems to have come loose and I am curious if I should worry about it. The pictures below detail what I saw.
