Loading 2014A Vida software issue.

Need help here. Received my DICE unit a couple of days ago from the recommended supplier and I'm working with Mandy Deng to figure this out.

2014A is supposed to run on XP or Win7 Pro. I had some issues getting 2012A running in VWware in Windows 7 Pro, but with your able help on the forum I got there in the end.

As supplied, the disc for 2014A has 13 files in 'Winrar' compressed format.

I have tried to 'un-pack' the files and store on the 'C' drive into a new file both directly from the disc and by copying the files over first and then un-packing.

Once un-packed, the files become one and I have then dug down and found the 'Setup.exe' file and run that. However, every time I run that, it comes up with a screen as below:

Doesn't matter what I have done (tried on another Win 7 Pro PC also) I get the same problem at the same point.

IT still asks to re-start, but when you do nothing has changed.

Suggestions please?

Do I need to switch off security software as I know it needs access, but normally you would get a request to allow?

I can run the DiCE unit on the 2012A software, but it is slow, I'm hoping that by running directly on Win 7 it may be quicker as it should have access directly to computer resources, and boot up quicker.

Neil do you have Net Framework 4.0 installed in your programs list? Perhaps it didn't load properly. If not download it from Microsoft's site and install.

Checking my programs list, I have a program called: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2. Is this what you are talking about?

Even if I have it do you suggest I try to re-load and then re-try loading Vida again?

Hmm the version you have is very high for Vida. You could try cranking it back to version 4.0 as suggested and see if it helps. Try Microsoft's site as they have pretty much every version there.

Back-dated the system to Net 4.0, removed all Vida 2014A and re-loaded (after a re-boot).

Re-opened the package using WinRAR, and this time it loaded as best as I can tell. However, when I try to open the Vida All-in-one application, it stalls on the log-in page.

I've read on some install instructions, that you also needed to add a 'patch, to get this to work (didn't need it on 2012A version), but don't see a file.

Tried running using 'admin' password, but screen just site on the internet page and does nothing.

What version of Internet Explorer are you running?

I'm running IE8 as the principle, but the computer has Chrome as well. When Vida kicks in, it is operating in IE8. The Vida status is at GREEN arrow status.

I have seen posts where users claim to be using Win 8.1 and even IE11 and it is working.

Any suggestions throw them this way. I see loads of the patches out there for 2014A, but on sites I'm not sure I want to be on. I am trying to work with Mandy Deng, but with time differences it is slow.

At worst I will use the VMware and XP version of 2012A but it is slow.

I was never able to get anything beyond IE 9 to work with VIDA 2012 or anything beyond IE 8 to work with VADIS. I have not even tried my VIDA 2014 A with IE10 but it runs fine with IE 9. You did run the crack program didn't you?

Thanks Lee. You are saying what I said too. I can find no password 'crack' program included with the disc supplied. Only the 13 sub-files that can on the disc compressed. Been through all the files and can't find any sign off it.

Mandy is going to get someone on Teamviewer to try and find a fix. Not comfortable normally with the idea of this but, as I don't use the computer for anything other than car stuff I'm ok with it.

There should be a folder named Read Me on the DVD. The "patch" file is there and it is named VOLVO_VIDA_2014A_Patch.EXE. There is also a text file named Operation.txt that basically tells you to copy the patch to the root directory and run the file after VIDA has started in the system try. You will need to restart the computer after you run the patch. The patch file scanned as clean with my virus scanner but you should scan the file first to be sure.

They say to use 1 as the login but if you use 2 it will default to North America rather than Europe.
