95 940 front wheel bearing hub

Post by greekbuckeye »

Hey y'all,

Just took my 95 940 to the shop for a groupon oil change, brake check, tire rotation, and they said the front bearings need replaced because they are loose and it has caused uneven tire wear. How challenging is this at home? Are they press fit, because if so I heard you have to have a press for that which I do not have. Thanks in advance.

I would suspect its a hub-assembly, which means whole unit is replaced.

I would be checking for looseness in tie-rod ends, bottom ball-Joint, and that strut-rod bushings. Those strut-rod bushings do fail. I suspect its not a wheel bearing issue, but these items I mentioned.
