1986 240 DL Front end shuddering over bumps

Whenever I hit a bump (e.g. manhole cover, pothole, railway tracks etc), my front end shudders and I can feel it very strongly in the steering wheel. Any thoughts?

I'm no expert. But it sounds like the strut bearing I think is what its called. It sits a top of your strut.. I had the samething happen. Pulling into my very bumpy driveway. Sounded horrible. Pretty easy fix.and wasn't to pricy. Hope this helps.
