Hello All,

Got a question about the heated seats. Or not so heated seats. I've read countless times that the seats never get very warm. Is this true, or is it because they break down? Were they hot from the factory or always just barely warm? Mine don't get very hot but they do at least warm my tush enough to be comfortable, and these seats are fantastic.

Anyone here actually get "hot" seats on these cars?

When the seat heaters are working they get pretty toasty on all of mine. It takes a few minutes for them to get up to temperature but after that it is more than noticeable.

These heaters as installed from the factory would toast your tush. There was a recall, and Volvo put a thermostat in the wiring to make them not as hot. The first winter after the recall I noticed the difference, but they still work--just no more hot crossed buns.

Very TRUE. S70 also gets nice and hot. 850 warm only

Same here. Mine get so hot after about 5 mins. that I have to turn them off. I don't remember that from my 850.

I have a 99 S70, and they get almost too warm, then seem to cool off a bit, like there's a thermostat inside. Absolutely love this luxury. First vehicle I have had that had heated seats.

94 850 with leather gets warm but takes a while, 95 850 fabric sears my butt really quick, 04 s60 leather is pretty quick but the thermostat seems to wait a while before turning back on, so you get warm cool warm cool etc

Mine dont get too hot either. I was wondering what would happen if I cut the thermostat out, and just wired together the two cables. Would that work better?
