2002 Volvo v70 XC Sunroof Operation
My sunroof opened but wouldn't close. I used a battery to jump the motor to get it to close. I purchased a sunroof control module and when I installed it, the sunroof would open but would not close. I was able to get it to close by pushing the switch to the tilt position. WhenI would hold the switch in the tilt position for about 5 seconds, the sunroof would move a little. I had to do this quite a few times to get the sunroof closed. The sunroof will open the whole way but I can't get the switch to work at all when I try to close it. I've tried the calibration instructions and still can't get it to close as it should. The tilt function doesn't work either, unless I hold the switch in the tilt position for about 5 seconds and again, it only moves a little at a time.

If your alarm system is malfunctioning it will cause issues with sunroof functionality. Is there any messages on dash cluster screen? There's an alarm module that tends to fail on these cars and can cause sunroof operation failure. Search the topic on this forum, you'll find quite a bit.davidromance wrote:My sunroof opened but wouldn't close. I used a battery to jump the motor to get it to close.
