2005 s80 parasitic drain

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2005 s80 parasitic drain

Post by iis4isaac »

So I was driving and the power system urgent message popped up. Made it to advance auto. battery wasn't charging properly, tried to test the alternator but was getting a parasitic drain. so new battery So I could get home. Drove half mile, light came back on. Got home turned off the key and pulled it out if the ignition. Instrument cluster and environmental controls still had some lights on. Message display panel was partially illuminated.

So I pulled the negative lead. Thoughts on how to tr ack this down? Google didn't get me much.

Also, had the car about a year, no recent work or modifications. That was my first thought. Replaced the ac compressor and fuel pump back in October.

Thanks in advance.
