1999 S70AWD passanger side door light switch

Hello, the front passanger door dome light switch is not always working causing some lights to stay on, it has killed the battery more than once. I assume that the switch is behind the door panel by the latch (?) Is this true, if so, how do I get to it to replace it? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Unfortunately the switch is built into the latch assembly and I have not been able to source just the switch portion of the latch to solder in a replacement. I was able to make a thin plastic shim that I glued in to force the switch to be depressed a fuzz more and that solved my problem when the same thing happened to my S70.

Lee, thank you for the quick response, I will try to do the same as you did. How did you get the door panel out without causing any damage to it?

Expect to break some of the plastic retainers when you remove the panel. So either stock up with some from the dealer or go to a Pick-n-pull and practice removing a few door panels and removing the clips that don't break.

The chances of not breaking the clips and having the mounts not come unglued approaches zero. I have used a hot glue gun to re-secure the mounts on the panels.

...Lee, Neil and Robert, thank you all for your help, it is incredible how much easier a task becomes when getting relevant information. I will not be able to get back to this repair until Monday or Tuesday.. I will let you know how it turns out.
