2000 volvo s80 2.9 transmission replacement
i have a 2000 Volvo s80 2.9 and just replaced the transmission with a used one...also replaced the radiator.. the previous trans. had antifreeze in the fluid, and was just about completely inoperable.. seems to hopefully have been a success, it drives good rides good although its sitting at a shop now awaiting an alignment...the car seems to be overall good running and rides nice. it does however shift a little hard going into 4th if you get on it a bit, its been driven an hour doing 50-70mph and 20 min through town with that being my only real worrisome complaint. do I need to take it to Volvo and have any type of software updates computer resets etc.. will doing this solve the shifting issue? will it prolong the functionality of the car? Iv owned the car maybe 2 months, drove it maybe 4 weeks before the trans went, I don't think the prior owner who owned it only 1 year ever took it to Volvo for anything. any advice is greatly appreciated. I don't really know anything about the topic at all, I just pretty much helped my dad and one of his friends do all of it. I know and understand a little bit but not much. if anybody has any information about software updates/reloads? computer adaptation reset shift adaptation reset or just in general what I should do from here it would truly be great. I wish I could afford to pay the best mechanic to go through the car extremely thoroughly but who can afford that although I do care about the car and want to take care of it the best I can..thankyou
