Post by rspi »

I purchased this tool from eBay, arrived from China in about 25 days. It did reset the "Service" light in my '96 855T.

Why you didn't buy vol-fcr for the same price and you could have access to all modules in the car including service light reset?

If you have a Motronic 4.4 car...you could read & clear engine codes too.

It's software that runs on PC/laptop through a special diagnostic cable (usually a serial cable)

Very cheap and works well, except that the unlicensed version won't clear the service light. It found the hidden tranmission code on my 98 V70R recently.

What sort of cost for that tool Robert?

Only demo version will not reset service light!
I have vol-fcr from e-bay and it works like a charm,including service light reset.

It cost around $44.

So I would need the Vol-FCR software, then purchase a cable, then install the software on my computer, then carry my computer out to my car and other vehicles to use it?

That is how I lost my last computer a few months ago, stopped to visit a friend and someone busted my window out in their driveway in an affluent neighborhood and walked away with it.

No you would keep it safe by hiding it under a luggage cover or a garment. Having said that I am sorry that it happened to you, Robert.

I carry a laptop in my car every day of the year and I often hear of them being taken. It has a black fabric carry case and strap which looks more like a carry bag.

So far after concealing it in my car for about 12 years no-one has taken it. At night it comes into the house.

Laptops are targets and sooooo easy to sell.

The VOL-FCR full version can be found out there and it has lots of live stuff as well, besides I don't mind using a laptop because I'm comfortable using them. I also have Vadis and Vida 2011A loaded.

@misha unlicensed means demo.
