I think I have maybe five of those at this point.

I find myself collecting things that I had needed at one point, usually for diagnostics.
The funny thing is, they are not usually the issue.

It is good to come across a good ECC unit in the '95 to '98 range. Grab 103 relays.

You never know when you may find a car that has been given up upon with low mileage, or freshly replaced parts?
I keep looking. Of course I have started hoarding this series of car.

I am happy with the '96 Turbo Wagon as the daily driver, the 93 GLT N/A as the original learning experience and stand-by driver.
So having two projects for this summer, being the Black T-5R, and the '98 V70 XC-Cross Country, I know many of the little things, as well as larger will find use.

I don't know what happened first though?
Did I start hoarding parts as a way to more cars?
Or the opposite.
There is this.
There is this.
And there is this.
And there is this.
And this T-5R Under Cover.
And this T-5R Under Cover.
I have not been professionally diagnosed.
Could this indicate a problem?

Had a bit of extra time yesterday and the weather was fine so I went to the junkyard again to see what I could see. They had 6 or 8 S70 / V70 / 850's in the yard (I lost count as I wandered up and down the aisles, 'shopping'). I stopped and shot this panorama from the roof top of the red S70 on my right. There was a silver V70 on the opposite side of the aisle.

In the end I got a few items that seemed useful, including a radiator cap, some side marker lights (no need for me to get any more of these -- I have two on the car and four in a shoebox), fan relay, fuel pump relay, Evap purge valves, check valves and Tee, an ECC power stage, ECC panel knob, ECC temperature sensors, ECC solar sensor, an AC drain tube, AC control relay, speakers, windshield visor with 'home link' buttons, driver's side wiper arm from an S70 (to upgrade my old 850 version which always bends away over time), gas cap, bulbs, tailgate bump stops, and other small items.

All in all, a good day exploring.

Just got back from the junkyard, where they were having a 40% off sale for Fourth of July. Big crowds...the line to check out was about 40 minutes long.
One car, a '98 V70, had an interesting intake arrangement. A MAF was duct taped to the intake tube, bypassing the turbo and air filter housing.
