99 volvo 70 sereis wont start after accident

Post by kayvanm »

I had an accident and my airbags deployed now the car wont start.

Question # 1 in this car if the airbags deploy does that make the car not start? do you have to reset something?

question #2 the bodyshop had disconnected the battery , now that it is reconnected it wont start , do i have to reset something after reinstalling the battery?
I used to have a bmw and after the battery died there was a special way to restart the car , while the battery was disconneced i had to turn the ignition to the on position, connect the battery turn the ignition off and then start the car. Is there something similar with the volvo?
Thanks for all the hellp you can give.
Kayvan

I can't comment on this because I don't know. But there are a couple of items you should look into:
is the car setting codes?
and...
you may want to take it to a Volvo independent mechanic if not a Volvo dealer outright. You could have problems that are well beyond the capabilities of the body shop. Make some noise with your insurance co. about safety.

Good luck and follow up on this forum with the outcome if you could please.

Thanks,

Not sure about your car but most modern cars have a fuel pump shutoff that trips when a accident occurs. Check your owners manuel, they are usually located in the trunk.

That's the first thing that popped into my head. Were you rear-ended in the accident, Kayvan?
