2001 V-70 T-5 Buzzing noise behind dash, engine off
I recently bought a 2001 V-70 T-5 in very nice condition. The only gripe I have is a persistant buzzing noise seeming to come from behind the dash. Ignition off. It begins (I think) as soon as I open the driver door to get in. I don't know when or if it stops, but it's there when I turn off the ignition and remove the keys. I get out of the car and it's still buzzing. Any suggestions?

It is not the warning buzzer for leaving the keys in or door open?
Can you record the sound or video the area as it may help us to help you unless someone here already knows of the problem.

When it's buzzing, open the hood and listen down in front of the air filter box. It could be the vacuum pump. If that's what it is, then we'll discuss the possible cause/remedy.

The later ECC climate control run the fan to dry the AC evap after shut off. If your ECC is confused it might be your fan running, buzzing could be leaves or other junk in it.

The ECC idea sounds pretty much like it could be that. Especially after I shut down. However, I'm not using it (the ECC) at all in our great early summer out here. Maybe it runs in the background? The part that makes me scratch my head is that it's buzzing BEFORE I start up, in the morning when all is cool. I'll stick my head under the hood tomorrow and see if it is obvious out front. It does sound like it's from right behind the ECC controls.
