I am getting a check engine light of front oxygen sensor, and am wondering will I help by removing the sensor and cleaning it off? Thanks for the advice.

Tried it, doesn't work. You can learn from my time wasted. It's not dirt that causes the issue

If you have proper resistance on heater wires, then you can remove o2 and soak it in petrol overnight or you can clean it in ultrasonic bath, like injectors.
Cleaning is possible and successfull only if heater circuit is working.
