Does anyone know a way to or why my shifter is stuck in Park? Earlier it was stuck having only Neutral and Drive but I managed to somehow get it to move up into P(ark) and now it won't move at all? When I press the brake I can see and hear the shift interlock move but the shifter wind budge.
I already ordered a new shifter but need to at least get the car home. Please help.

This sounds like ignition switch problem. This may help https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55868kyngofpop wrote:Nvm figured out a quick fix until my new shifter arrives.

Mine did the same thing, turns out the shifter cable lubricant dried up. Replaced it for around $30 and haven't have an issue since.
