1999 S80 Heater control panel change!

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 Heater control panel change!

Post by jerryt »

Hello, I have a problem with my heater! Both temp knobs seem defective! The heater is either full hot or just cold with no adjustment inbetween! So I suspect the control panel is faulty! I intend to fit a second hand one! Do I need to get this second-hand panel programmed to the car? Hope someone can help! :D :D :D :D

If you can get your fault codes read, the CCM may throw you a CCM-0003 Fan motor passenger compartment temperature sensor - Faulty signal.

This will most certainly mean that the little fan behind the climate control module has become blocked by some dust or similar. You can see the hole for the temperature sensor in the upper part of the CCM. You may even be able to feel the air flow if the fan is working.

The reason is that if the car does not know what the cabin temperature is, the automatic control will not function. If the knobs are turned to the min or max positions, the automatic control is skipped and a minimum or maximum temperature is issued.
Just fixed this in my 2000 S80 only by cleaning the fan, had very similar symptoms. 8)
