2008 XC90 brake work - need advice!

Post by stephieds »

My 2008 XC90 has 70,000 miles and was recommended to get new pads and rotors for the front and rear as well as complete brake fluid flush and replacement. Quote at AAA Brakes was for $1200 - I have no idea if this is reasonable… Should I keep shopping? THANKS!!!

keep shopping lol.

you can get the brake kit from FCP online , and get a shop to put them on and flush the fluid for less that 1200.

Just to give you an idea, if I were to do the brakes myself with the best parts, It would cost me $500 at the most for the parts.

Labor alone should not cost $700.

Attached are OEM brake rotors and pads for the front and rear. You can buy the brake fluid at Autozone. Trust me, you can easily do this job. Check your e brake if needs to be replaced as well. Not only that you will be saving $600 on labor, you will also walk with your head high and say "I did my brakes"

Btw...Those part numbers below are not necessarily accurate as I dont know the size of your rotors. But the prices are in the ballpark.
