I was able to pull mine down with a bar clamp. Make sure the splines and the pinch bolt are correctly aligned.

I got the shaft in but now having an issue with the bolt/screw of the large fluid line. I posted some pics on the s80 forum because they had the rack issue! This is all I needed to do to complete the job but the bolt/screw isn't catching!

Any suggestions! I hate to take all of this apart again!

Are you sure that o-ring is in the right place? The line doesn't look straight enough, It has to be perfect. You may need to loosen the rack bolts some or tweak the line a little. A 3/8" drive 12 point 19mm flare socket would help to tighten it. I got one on ebay for about $20.00.

I have a 19mm but have tried to get it straight by loosening the line from the top (from the pump).
No success yet!

Loosening the two pieces on a union joint is a intermediate mechanic trick. The best application is on brake calipers where it is a lot easier to start the brake unions with the caliper off the car, the mount.

Loosen the rack until you can move it by half the union diameter. If the rack calls for torque stretch bolts, use new ones. :-( you don't want the rack coming loose.
