1999 V70 Where does the cargo cover attach?

Post by PapaHepcat »

I have the cargo cover that comes out of the back seats: half net, half actual cover. They pull out and retract fine, but I can't figure out where they attach. There are some holes in the back near the tailgate, but I'm coming up short.

I want to able to leave stuff in the back without the whole world seeing what I've got back there.

That is NOT a cargo cover, it's a cargo net. They hook to the ceiling. When the seats are up, they connect at the "C" pillar. When the seats are folded down, they attach at the front edge of the hand grips.

If you fold the rear seat down there are tether points just behind the driver and passenger as well as the rear most ones. You keep pulling it up and after the netting rolls out and it will expose half net and half vinyl. Volvo thought of almost everything......pretty cool for a car of 90s vintage.

"Tether points at the hand grips"....are you referring to the area where your hand opens the rear door when sitting in the seat?

I understand how the cargo net clips on the ceiling area, but am having a hard time conceptualizing what other mounting options there are besides the standard "up at the ceiling" one.
