1999 V70 XC Hidden subwoofer ideas

Post by PapaHepcat »

I'm going to be brutally honest. I don't care much about status and all that stuff. But the fact remains: I drive a 16 year old station wagon. It's practical, works for my needs, and I've done a lot of work on it so feel comfortable in saying that it'll be reliable for a long time to come.

But it's still a 16 year old station wagon.

So for lack of a better phrase, I want to at least try to pimp it out a little. I tried tinting the windows, but it was a fail. Related, I want to put in my subwoofer that's just sitting in the basement. Without the windows tinted, though, there's nowhere to hide it.

So I'm hoping folks might like to share ideas on what they've done to hide a subwoofer. I have the back, rear facing seat. And I'd like to keep the spare tire in there if possible. SO.... any ideas?

A good tint job requires still, calm weather or a sealed work shop. Winds make getting the film to the car without creases almost impossible.

I would lose the useless rear facing seat and build a custom plank for the sub. I wouldn't put my kids in the rear unless it's a P2 series but that's just me. You can sell the rear seat conversion on Craiglist for $50 and be ahead.
