ty for the replies. Very weird, i went out this morning and decided to take her to the store. She drove fine and normal on the way there, but the arrow was still blinking. After doing our shopping i came outside and fired her up.. arrow gone. Drove it around town a lot today and it never came back, however i think i have narrowed down the problem to torque converter unlocking and re locking. It seems like when i get up to speed the rpms drop, then they raise by about 500-600 and then drop back down again.
I went through all the gears with the shifter this morning multiple times quickly trying to see if the pnp switch could be related but it didn't seem to help at all. I also just took the car to a Valvoline service center that did a transmission "fluid exchange", it did not flush the system, it would pump in 2 quarts from the dip stick and wait a few minutes then pump out a few quarts and repeat, they claim it gets about 98% of the fluid changed.
Car drove fine after that, smoother, but still was doing the torque converter lockup problem. That seems to be the only issue, I think the P0730 code was flagged because one time when it unlocked the rpms raised too high before it locked again, im not sure.
anything that could cause the torque converter to do this? could it be related to the boost leak that recently showed up? It may be stupid but im wondering if under coasting speeds the boost pressure isn't enough to keep my speed up so its unlocking the torque converter to make up for it..
p.s. the car has never been flushed, my bad in the original post for saying after the flushes, it has always been drain and filled the closest thing ive ever done to a flush is what was just done today.

Hmmm...torque converter is engaging when cruising speed and transmission temperature match and it will be always in last gear.It will not engage untill transmission develope proper temperature.
Flip a switch to sport mode and see how it behaves.

I decided to drive the car to work today, No noticeable difference in sport or eco mode.misha wrote:Hmmm...torque converter is engaging when cruising speed and transmission temperature match and it will be always in last gear.It will not engage untill transmission develope proper temperature.

Ya mine is experiencing the same thing. I replaced the lock up solenoid and also the pnp switch. It seems to work when its cold but when it gets to operating temp the transmission doesn't work. I shift into low to help it get started. No codes no flashing arrow.
check out my newest thread about it... found a part that could be related but im looking for some expert opinions (everyone here)4sdAIR wrote:Ya mine is experiencing the same thing.
