Hello MVS family.
I have bought my wife a 2008 xc90 v8 sport model last summer and ever since always had brake squealing and dusting baldy, which I cannot stand so at first I had the rotors machined and replaced with new dealer pads front and rear, which had seemed to fixed the problem so for around $200 spent I was happy.
That was until I took the car on a trip to Florida 1100 miles or so one way and that's when my problems started getting even worse about 900 miles in, started to have a vibration while braking by the time I made it to my hotel it was impossible to drive it was so bad, so I called around and found that NAPA carried my rotors in stock so I went out and picked them up same night and ( as usual I don't leave my house on longer road trips with out a tool box) put new rotors in the car was like new again, stayed there for about a week and went back home to Ohio when got back my front brakes started squealing again and started to feel vibration from rear rotors. So went out and got new rear ones from NAPA and right now had to deal with squealing brakes do to harsh winter but vibration has gone away.
But this is all a history I am tired of all this none sense and trying to buy same worthless parts, and wanted to know if anyone has tackled a job of replacing the brake system from S60R/V70R, I have a whole parts car so any suspension parts I might need to swap out I'll have but need to know if its possible from someone that has already done so, with possibly some info on what exactly need to be replaced on top of the calipers and rotors. Would love to do both front and rears but will live with just the fronts if have to
Thanks for any input you guys might have

Try Akebono Euro pads all around and if you need to replace the rotors, make sure the hub face is clear of any corrosion which can cause the rotor to be installed unevenly. ALso make sure to grease everything which I am sure you are already aware of.
I have akebonos on in the front, and my wheels are clean and brakes are quiet. Just have to make sure you hit the brakes a few time to dry the brakes when driving in lots of rain or after a carwash.
Hopefully you figure out what the issue is.

I think the calipers will bolt up to the steering knuckle. I have not known of anyone putting Brembo R calipers on an XC90. The rotors that work with those calipers are the most expensive of any used on Volvos.
The R's are far from being brake noise free.
The pads may have a short life and have more noise than what you have now.
All European makes, and many others, use softer rotors that together with the selected pad composition will wear the rotor. Turning rotors on any of these usually puts them too close to their min wear limit. That the rotor developed DVT makes for a high likelihood that it will wear improperly again.
The advice above for Akebono pads is good if dust is a major concern. Akebono seems to have pads that are very close to OE pads in most all ways but with greatly reduced dust.

thanks for your input guys and Jimmy we all have different experiences with our cars I currently own 2 S60R's both 2007 plus one parts R same year and my wifes car I replaced her front pads with elevate pads for about $100 at 50k on the clock its now at 120 and they are still like new and dust free
