Hi!
Dash indicator says rear hatch is open.
It doesn't latch anymore, or lock.
Does anyone know how fixable it is if I take it apart?
Or should I just buy a new one and install?
1999 v70 rear hatch latch does not latch anymore
Fixed it!
Little bit of lube and some Chiropractic adjustments on the spring loaded counter latch...
there is a little spring loaded latch to the right thats hidden behind the plastic fascia that cams into the big latch that locks the big latch into place when it seats into the kick plate (when the hatch is closed)
If the pivot is dirty and or not lubricated then there is too much friction on the pivot point for the little spring
to push the counter latch into place.
