Looks like a junked 98 S70 T5M is falling into my lap within the next week. My current wagon needs a new head due to a burned valve.
Question is, how easy would an auto to manual swap be, granted if the motor is proven healthy, as I would be swapping over the engine as well if this is the case.
I've done research and it appears some folks have to reverse wires and create jumpers, etc. Would anything within the T5M's wire harness keep me from having to do this?
ECU is already an ARD Green Tune, so a quick trip there would fix any minute issues there.
Plan is to get car, pull engine/trans and reseal it, clean it. Pull motor/trans from V, swap parts and go.
I've also read that the dash doesn't have to be pulled to swap pedal assemblies?
I know there is probably a few points I'm missing, but I've done a swap before but with a mazda. That was a damn pain.

You don't have to pull the dash to swap the pedals. As for the wiring I don't know.

Ideally,you would need an ecu from manual car.If not you will have check engine and transmission light(orange arrow flashing) on all the time.

Lucky can burn your ECU to be compatible with the manual and, since you already bought the Green Tune, I think he will cut you a deal on it. You just take the TCU out altogether.
There are lots of little things that are a pain but one of the biggest problems is often overlooked, the console. If you aren't getting the whole donor car be sure to snag the console along with the shifter and the pedals.

I'm getting the entire car...it even runs/drives well. Just don't want the sedan. Just wish the interior pieces were dark grey. Interior is tan. Hopefully I don't need to many interior pieces, but I can always paint them.

I have actually had some luck mixing and matching charcoal and beige interior pieces but I think the ones I have replaced mostly went from beige to charcoal. They really don't look all that awkward. SEM makes some real good interior spray dye and I can typically find it at an interior shop that re-does seats and the like. I re-did the dash on and old Porsche 944 for that I bought for my daughter when she was in high school and it really looked terrific.
