1999 S80 T6 Really Weird Problem Alarm/Central Locking

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

1999 S80 T6 Really Weird Problem Alarm/Central Locking

Post by Window_Licker »

Ok so i have owned my car for just on a year now and I have had this random fault ever since I got the battery in the key fob changed the other day.

The central locking only works when its warm outside via the remote and the alarm no longer works after the battery was changed in the remote ( other buttons work when they want to as well IE boot pop and puddle lights )

Central locking still works fine when you use the key but the red led in the dash board no longer flashes ( use to flash if I used the key or the remote to lock the car)

The battery change was done at the local Volvo dealership and they had to "re link" the remote to the car because they put the battery in upside down the first time :?

Its going back tomorrow morning for the 3rd time

Car has done 150,000 km and I have spent so much time and money on the car so far including geting parts from Sweden and IPD

Any ideas on a way to keep the cost from sky rocking any higher?

Ok so dealership have said it needs a new remote as a mirco switch has pulled off the circuit board.

I sent it away and got it fixed

Back to the dealer ship and its still the same problem but now I got it back from the dealership with more problems!

Rough idle, massive loud droning noise when accelerating along with no power when accelerating and SRS service light is on too!!!

What can I do?
