95 850 Turbo. Large nipple next to PTC?

Post by 2012 »

Just wondering what is the large nipple next to the PTC on the intake is for? It was blocked off on my car with a rubber cap. What should go here?
Thanks.

It comes from the oil trap.

I've a 96 850 T5, and had to change that whole intake pipe the other day. Got a new one from Volvo. The old one didn't have that nipple, and there's also an extra, smaller nipple right at the "top" of the new one which does nothing on my car either, apparenty.

Had both of them capped at a local hose/fittings manufacturer. Apparently, this intake pipe has been standardized for 850/V70s over the years, and Volvo ships out a kit for blocking those 2 unneeded ones. Sorry - don't have the p/n's here, but your local dealer knows. :)
