2001 S60 T5 Front end noise

Post by bschlage »

So I have a rattling in the front end when I go over bumps and I cannot figure out what it is at all.

I've replaced just about the whole front end: struts and sway bar linkages (last year so shouldn't be bad); a-arms; steering knuckles; bearings; and outer tie rods all within past couple of months (wiggled inner tie rods and there was no looseness so can't be that).

Could it be my brakes rattling around? The pads and rotors are both in good condition. Maybe the shoe is letting the pads rattle around?

I'm pulling out my hair on this one. Can anyone help??

When you replaced the struts did you replace the spring seats and upper strut mounts? Also, have you considered the ball joints?

"...Could it be my brakes rattling around?..."

I've heard of that happening.

Turns out it was the sway bar links. I bought them March 30th, 2014. Won't be getting that kind of link anymore. Good thing FCP has a lifetime warranty
